In October 2014 we discovered this wonderful place via the internet and by now we've been there a second time in June. Les Fontanelles is located right in the middle of nature; meadows, forests, water; everything can be found in the surroundings. Cities and villages of great beauty. Never very far away…. Cordes-sur Ciel, perched high on a mountain, Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val; beautifully situated on the L'Aveyron; little villages where many artists live, where it's lovely with terraces, shops and streets with beautiful houses and impressive architecture from ages past. And then larger places like Rodez with the Soulages museum; very much worth a visit and Albi has an impressive cathedral with wealth from long-gone times and the special Toulouse-Lautrec museum. These are charming little towns where you can spend hours! And then Les Fontanelles itself. The hospitality of Marleen and Bert; the perfect care of the house; the surprise in the refrigerator; the furnishings - in our long career of renting cottages, we've never experienced anything so good and complete - a cozy, atmospheric house with comfortable furniture and good beds! The beautiful trees and the terrace, where you can enjoy a lovely breakfast in the morning sun and a glass of wine in the evening sun. And then the peace and quiet… for us it's a Golden Spot! In short: a perfect ten from Jan and Leontien

Hello Marleen and Bert, We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in your gite. The peace and quiet, the nature, the beautiful grounds, the swimming pool and of course the house itself really appealed to us. It's truly a place to properly unwind. We felt at home immediately, everything has been thought of to get your holiday off to a great start the moment you arrive, not least thanks to the warm welcome. The house is very comfortable and completely furnished, the view from the terrace is beautiful and when you sit in the garden you can hear the woodpeckers busy in the trees right above your head. There's plenty to do in the area, sometimes you have to drive a bit for it but that's no hardship, thanks to the beautiful, varied landscape and the nice, old towns you pass through. Furthermore, there's plenty of walking and/or cycling to be done nearby. You gave us plenty of tips for nice excursions. If you're a lover of nature, peace and authentic France, you've come to the right place with you. In any case, we've already booked again for next year. We'd love to come back here again. Hello Marleen, We enjoyed your vacation home. A spacious, fully-equipped house with all the comforts. A really great bed, a beautiful kitchen, comfortable seating, a lovely swimming pool. In short, an excellent vacation spot. It was nice that all the bed and kitchen linens and final cleaning were taken care of. We thought the Tarn was absolutely beautiful. Very hilly with a palette of colors. The villages and towns are picturesque, you often feel transported back centuries in time. What was really special was that we regularly had deer and does in the "garden". Also lots of birds and an incredible number of butterflies, from small to large and in all sorts of colors. From black/white to bright blue, yellow, orange. We've been celebrating our vacations in la douce France for over 20 years. This was a different experience. For us, it could have been a bit more modern. A bit more touristy. The distances are large due to the narrow, winding little roads. Still very much worth the effort. Albi is so beautiful, the cathedral is incomparably beautiful. It's unbelievable that human hands could build this centuries ago. Cordes sur Ciel and so much more. You feel transported back centuries in time. We experienced it as a very pleasant, peaceful vacation. A different vacation than in Provence or on the Mediterranean. But we gained so many impressions, experienced so much peace. It was simply wonderful. Hans and Annie

We had the pleasure of visiting the gite and the region in August.... Since the gite, the swimming pool and the hosts were so pleasant, we should have booked an extra week to also discover the region :-) .. This was and is indeed definitely worth the effort Cordes, Albi, the Templar castle .. All little gems where you can rediscover yourself and quickly return to the total peace of the perfectly furnished house and the very pleasant garden with private swimming pool ... Marleen and Bert, heartfelt thanks for the wonderful vacation !!!
